About VFS Officers

The VFS Officer Team serves as the operational backbone of the Texas A&M Vertical Flight Society, responsible for running the organization with the structure and accountability of a real engineering focused organization. Officers lead specialized divisions spanning operations, technology, finance, external affairs, and growth, managing everything from infrastructure and events to fundraising, partnerships, recruitment, and branding. The team is intentionally structured to give members real ownership over systems, people, and outcomes, emphasizing execution, reliability, and long term continuity rather than symbolic leadership roles.

VFS is organized to operate like a real technology driven organization, with leadership divided across clear executive functions that mirror industry structure. Under the VFS President, teams are grouped into Technology, External Affairs, Operations, Finance, and Growth, each owning a distinct area of responsibility and supported by focused subteams that execute real work. This structure emphasizes accountability, specialization, and cross team collaboration, allowing VFS to scale across multiple programs while maintaining professional standards. We look for members who take ownership, execute reliably, and thrive in structured team environments, with technical roles prioritizing demonstrated skill and problem solving ability and non technical roles prioritizing communication, organization, and follow through.

OPERATIONS

Operations ensures VFS runs smoothly day to day by owning logistics, coordination, and execution across the organization. This team plans and runs events, manages schedules and resources, and keeps teams aligned on timelines and deliverables. If something needs to happen reliably and on time, Operations makes it happen.

TECHNOLOGY

TECHNOLOGY

Technology builds and maintains the digital systems that power VFS. This team manages websites, internal infrastructure, collaboration platforms, and automation that reduce manual work and improve reliability. Members focus on building scalable, well structured systems that support every program and officer team.

EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

External Affairs manages VFS's relationships beyond the organization. This team works with industry partners, sponsors, alumni, and invited speakers to strengthen long term connections and engagement. Their focus is building trust, maintaining partnerships, and expanding VFS's external impact.

FINANCE

FINANCE

Finance leads VFS's fundraising efforts while overseeing budgeting and financial governance. This team manages grant applications, sponsorship funding, and other fundraising initiatives, while tracking expenses and ensuring responsible allocation of resources. Strong financial stewardship enables VFS to operate sustainably and grow.

GROWTH

GROWTH

Growth drives recruitment and shapes how VFS is seen through visual identity and media. This team creates graphics, video, and promotional content while leading outreach and recruitment campaigns across platforms. Their work ensures VFS attracts strong talent and maintains a cohesive, professional brand.
